The Association was formed in 2026 by legal and counselling practitioners seeking to work collaboratively and to develop professional capacity in the practice of fertility law and family creation, legal advice and counselling.
We believe that every journey to family - whether through assisted reproduction, surrogacy, or donor conception - deserves expert guidance, ethical practice, and genuine care.
Membership is open to lawyers and counsellors practising in Australia and New Zealand in the fields of fertility, surrogacy and donor conception, alongside allied professionals united by shared values and dedication.

Membership is open to professionals working in fertility and surrogacy-related fields across Australia and New Zealand. This includes counselling and legal practitioners, and allied professionals supporting the purpose of the Association.
Members gain access to professional development opportunities and our peer support community. You'll also have the ability to contribute to policy discussions that shape fertility and surrogacy practice in our region.
We develop and maintain comprehensive guidelines for ethical surrogacy practice, provide education on legal requirements across different jurisdictions, advocate for clear and fair legislation, and offer resources to help professionals navigate complex situations. Our code of conduct ensures all parties—intended parents, surrogates, and donor-conceived individuals—are treated with dignity and respect.
Yes, we offer several membership tiers: Full Membership for qualified practitioners and Associate Membership for those supporting the purpose of the Association. Each category provides appropriate access to resources.
